吊扇调速的开关常用有两种，一种是电感的，一种是电容的，两者都是通过选择接入电路的电感大小跟电容大小来达到调速目的。吊扇是通过调压降低电流，控制转速的，转换档位改变电源供给电路的电压电流大小来达到改变电机速率，从而改变风扇的速度。线圈硅片的调速器就是一个电感，在交流电路上相当于电阻，分掉部分电压电流，新的调速器是双向可控硅，斩波降压的，几乎不耗电。测试开关好坏相对简单的方法就是直接拆下调速器控制线直接接电源，直接接电源就是没有通过调速器调节转度就是快的档位，如果转速提升了那么说明调速器损坏更换新的，即可反之则没问题

吊扇由于有轴承，所以需要加油，可一年或两年加一次。加油时先拆下风扇取出转子，然后用汽油洗净轴承上的油垢，润滑油选用优质的“黄油”，用手拨动扇叶如稍转几圈即停下，则需加油，如能转动十多圈后慢慢停下，则表示无需加油。
